New Term With New Challenges

We are learning to write goals to help us measure our learning. I have learned this lesson when I know that my goals are measurable and specific. These are paragraphs of my goals about Writing, Reading and Maths.

My goal for writing is to use 9 ambitious vocabulary words in each of my paragraphs and also try to make my work exciting and not to rush. This is important because I want the reader to be interested of what I am writing and let them read more and more of my story. The steps I will take to achieve my goal will be is to read my work and check for spelling mistakes, check with a buddy and ask my buddy what his/her opinion is,  and what I can change in my writing then check with my teacher.

My goal for Reading  is to read a type of text and question myself about what the story was about. This is important because if I was told to read a story to some children I would be embarrassed because I can’t read. The steps I will take to achieve my goal will be to read any type of story with a sibling at home and let him/her ask me some questions about the story.

My goal for Maths is to learn my 17 , 18 times tables and also to answer faster when I am doing a basic facts test.  This is important because I want to be faster than 49 seconds in my basic facts and get a great time and also to be moved into the highest group like the ovals. The steps I will take to achieve my goal will be to think of  some faster ways I can solve the equation instead of using my fingers,  to ask a sibling at home to ask me hard times tables that I can solve using faster strategies.

Pamphlet

We are learning to create a pamphlet to show other people from different countries how to wash hands. I have learned this lesson when I can translate different kinds of words from different countries or cities. This is my two picture of my pamphlet of how to wash hands.

My Swim-Tastic Turtle

We are learning to sketch underwater creatures. I have learned this lesson when I can explain to people what my art  is about. This is my art, it is a turtle.

Water Cycle

We are learning to write a report about what happens in the water cycle. I have learned this lesson when I write what happens in the Water Cycle. This is the first topic of what happens in the water cycle, rain.

Precipitation is when the clouds get full of water and falls onto the ground. It can either rain, snow, hail or sleet .This fills up all our lakes, oceans, streams on the surface of the earth. Sleet is like a snowflake but it is also like hail so it’s half snow/hail a sleet can even be a type of rain .Hail is when the clouds get frozen and falls down onto the grounds like rain . Snow is when the temperature gets really cold it freezes up in the clouds and starts to fall as snowflakes .

Melanie

This is a picture of my little niece Melanie in her pink  birthday dress. She was very happy that everybody was there so celebrate her very first birthday. On her birthday my two cousin and I did a Samoan dance for her. Now that my little niece is 1 she can finally walk by herself. She is a smart little niece.

Tippy Tappy

We are learning to  discover what we can do to help save water when washing our hands. I have learned this lesson when I can tell other people what a tippy tap is and why we created one. This is a picture of the tippy tap that room 5 created with the help of our teacher. A tippy tap is a device that we use to show people in Africa how to wash hands and let them take shorter walks to the well. Here is what we used to create the tippy tap.

Water In Africa

We are learning to create a video about Water In Africa and why it is important that we get clean water and why it is creating p

overty in Africa. I have learned this lesson when I can tell people facts about Africa like " In Africa the girls have to carry  a baby for three hours and three hours back just to get 40 pounds of clean water" . This is a video of why it is so important for us to drink clean water.

I know that I have learned this lesson when I know why Peter the disciple of Jesus need/wanted to be healed. These two picture are about healing or forgiving.

WALT give and follow directions using left, right, up, down, North, East, South, West. I have learned this lesson when I know my directions of how to go left, right, north, east, west, south. This picture is a compass of NESW.

My Presentation- A Tuku

We are learning to create a mihi that introduces ourselves in Maori. I have learned this lesson when I introduce my self in Maori and English to other people. This presentation I have uploaded is about me and some of my family members, it is also in Maori and in English in every slide.

Germy Monster

We are learning to discover why it is so important to wash our hands and how much water we use we use doing so. I have learned this lesson when I tell people why it is so important like I would tell them "it is important to wash your hands because if you don't you tons of germs will be spreading around". This is the end of term 2, 
I won't come to school, 
but still do the work that I have done to impress you,

Special Graces of Anointing of the sick

We have been learning how to recognize that each sacrament makes present it's own special grace. I  know that I have learned this lesson because I know the special graces of anointing of the sick like care, forgiveness and strength. This picture shows that when people are about to die they can get anointed by the priest and also have these things like comfort, love and hope from other people. 

Party like a rock star

We have been learning how to create a simile about our digital media life. I know I can create a simile about my digital media life when I have made my simile when it is used to compare two unlike things. My simile is " My digital life is like a a party because we can be moved by the beat. My picture shows that my digital life is just like a party. My digital life is like being moved by the beat because I sometimes like to dance when i'm happy on the computer/laptop/chrome book.
